Bjuvs municipality is located in South Sweden and includes the scenic nature area Söderåsen. The municipality has transformed from a purely agricultural district, to a mining community to finally establish itself as a community with large industries. To clearly illustrate the positive changes that have occurred in the area, the new challenges and communicate their vision for the future, they sought a new graphic identity.

We started our work by looking at the municipality’s long history and let the traditional municipal symbol of a mining torch inspire us. We let the four characteristic lines of the mining torch transformed into a road that could take us into the future. Along this road different areas of the municipal operations could easily be described using clean-cut pictograms. The new graphic profile was applied to all future communications of Bjuvs Municipality.
